Simple instrumental with a light slow-moving melody, a child-like feel and a slight melancholy edge. Timed at exactly 1m 20s, but can be easily looped. Can be used as simple background music for video, or remixed into a larger music project. This track is based on "Dragonfly" by Snowflake. I've created a new soft mellow accompaniment, but kept the original piano in places where it fitted nicely.Funky dance track with sampled vocals. Upbeat 120bpm tempo and vintage synths give it an "old school" feel. I wanted to have a slightly electro edge to this track, without it sounding too harsh or experimental.A soft, spacey-sounding track with occasional drama. The subject of the song is, I think, relevant all over the world. And if you were to step back far enough into space so that you could tell the whole world, this is what it might sound like. Hence "Calling Planet Earth mix". Features words and vocals by Snowflake.Listening to Hans Atom's remix of Truth and Fact (originally by MindMapThat), I couldn't help noticing that the synth line reminded me of watching sunlight bouncing off waves on the seashore. Add in some Spinningmerkaba vocals (which fitted the theme nicely), a few extra bits and FX... and here you are! I'll be uploading the stems soon, plus a purely instrumental version. This is intended as a soundtrack. It starts off quite melancholy and chaotic, with sounds reminiscent of a battlefield. The main theme then marches in - a bit like Good marching through the wastelands of Evil. Or Good marching through a Mad world. Features Admiral Bob's melancholy strings - which I challenged myself to do something non-melancholy with. Features Alex Beroza's dancy synth rhythms, which are now just synth rhythms. And features snippets of vocals from SackJo22's "The Right Voice". Which is... what it says. This is a soundscape in which I've tried to capture the vast emptiness of outer space. Sit back, listen, and be transported to a different place and time. The track combines vintage and modern synths with samples from Ulkoavaruus by Ghost Kollective. All stems are available for download as high quality FLAC files.A modern blues-y feeling track with a hard urban edge. Oh, and some duelling spanish guitars (and why not?) This track was created for the Agent Blues Secret Mixter project, and the samples are from A Man's Fall by DJ Sapient. I gave a lot of thought to how the original hip-hop track could be given a more blues-y feel to fit the theme of the project. Eventually, I took the original apart and reassembled the components in a completely different setting. Technical data: 90bpm, C# minor, 4/4 time. I've uploaded dry stems and also a MIDI file with the same data. FLAC files are 96k, 16bit mono. MP3 file is 256k stereo. This is ejc's Winterberries poem set to a musical accompaniment. I wanted to capture the feeling of glistening snow in a subtle way, but also the slightly muffled soundscape that snow cover gives. Key: C Major. Tempo is variable (to fit the poetry reading) but feels about 70bpm. EDIT: The stems and a MIDI file for this track have now been uploaded. This track has a late night feel, with a bit of synth pop ballad merging into techo dance. In terms of inspiration, I wanted to reflect the trapped feeling that some people feel in their day to day lives, which is lifted when they hit the town and are free to be "themselves". They could be hitting the dance floor, treading the boards of the stage, or performing music in a bar. Thanks go to Sackjo22 for the vocals, and also apologies for messing with a beautiful sound! The vocals were in a completely different key and tempo to the synth samples, so they've been bent and processed a fair bit to fit. Since I had to make alterations, I figured I might as well use artistic changes rather than purely functional ones. Thanks also go to Flick3r on freesound.org, who has some great dance music sample sets with Creative Commons licencing. The stems are downloadable as a ZIP file; the individual files are dry FLAC format, 16bit, 44kHz, mono. P.S. The link between ccmixter and freesound.org wasn't working when I uploaded my final mix, so I've manually listed below the samples that I used: - oh-my: http://www.freesound.org/people/Flick3r/sounds/45614/ - Bounce seq 1: http://www.freesound.org/people/Flick3r/sounds/45609/ - Bounce seq 5: http://www.freesound.org/people/Flick3r/sounds/45610/ all the above are by user Flick3r, and licenced under Creative Commons attribution (CC-BY 3.0) licence. Note that the finsished track has a more restrictive CC-BY-NC licence.Synth ballad and electro loop samples meets archive educational film footage. You may want to put an extra jumper on before you listen... This was written for the Spring 2014 Secret Mixter, where I was assigned to Quarkstar. Since the creative brief was "Transitions and Transformations", I thought I would take a warm-sounding yet bitter-sweet spring-time ballad, and transform it into a shivery tale about a place where the transition between Winter and Spring are far more subtle than many of us experience. The audio clips are from the film "Eskimos: Winter in Western Alaska" (1950), Prod: Frederick Machetanz, Public Domain (copyright expired); from Prelinger Archives via https://archive.org/details/EskimosW1950 Download formats available so far are MP3 (256k) and FLAC (16-bit 48kHz). Stems to follow later, but please ask if you need something specific in the meantime.A selection of simple drum patterns with a slow tempo yet definite rhythm. The preview plays a snippet from all of them at 60bpm, but there are also 100bpm versions to download. Great for ambient or chill-out music, lounge music or light pop. The samples are dry, although the snare is gated. No cymbals or hi-hats are included, so you can add your own to taste. Each download file contains the same 3 basic rhythms in the same order, so you can cut and paste as required. Files are as follows (in the order they appear in the preview): * drum swirl - a syntheszied brush rim shot and brush snare (also sounds a bit like shoveling snow...) * 808 drum - classic Roland TR-808 analogue drum synth * tick tock bass - a standard acoustic kit with rim shot instead of snare * drum kit - a standard acoustic kitHere are the components for a very simple relaxation track, made up of a marimba chime and crashing waves on the shore. Both marimba and waves are available in separate files. The waves are synthesized so there is a regular rhythm at 60bpm. This is not entirely obvious to the listener due to a second wave track layered underneath at lower volume and slightly out of sync. The stems should work at any multiple of 30bpm (e.g. 30, 60 90...), so are suitable for relaxation music or anything that needs a down-tempo chilled out feeling.A sample set of cat purring noises, recorded from a real cat. Each of the files is different in tone and length, but each purr itself is quite short (as happens when, for example, a happy cat investigates a studio mic...) Available lengths: 3 seconds, 6 seconds and 12 seconds. The 12 second version has a quiet cat "warble" at the end. If you need to contrast this cat purr with a slower and slightly higher pitched one, Kara has one of those here: http://ccmixter.org/files/mindmapthat/49413 And just because someone will ask: the cat's name is Ollie, she is a 7 year old female, and her favourite seat is the one behind the mixing desk :-)A soundtrack. Sometimes, riding the wave can be perilous and full of unseen dangers. But we're driven to do it anyway. I wanted to do something different with these samples, and found that they fitted nicely into a minor key. And when does a surfing soundtrack start to use a minor key? When there are sharks about, of course! Tempo is approximately 60bpm. Key is E minor. Thanks to Blue Wave Theory for the drums and guitars, taken from their track "Hayburner".Sounds of the Far East with a meditative feel, set against a slightly busy background. A bit like visiting a beautiful, serene, ancient temple under a starry sky, while the modern 24/7 city still buzzes outside. This was a Secret Mixter project. I was privileged to be matched with 7OOP3D, whose electronic music I have great respect for. It was very tempting to take this project down the electronica route of Jarre, Enigma or even C2C, but in the end I opted for something more earthy. Tempo: 60 bpm. Scale: modal based on C, with Eb and Ab.Melancholy female vocals meet electro-acoustic dream pop. 70 bpm. C minor, with some parts de-tuned half a semitone lower for effect.Electro-acoustic chillout track with a warm edge. And some birds. 61 bpm. Many people won't be visiting for Christmas this year. But many of them will be here next year. Stay safe and keep well.Lo-fi chilled summer evening outdoors. Cloudy with a chance of rain. 80bpm, G Major.Instrumental with an unsettling start, that resolves into a cloudy dream world. From awake, to a dream, to a waking dream. But which is which? The electro harp and whistle are new parts, but everything else was sampled, processed, mixed up and re-assembled from Vermiliontempera's original materialMini-orchestral symphony, featuring piano composed by urmymuse. Slowly builds from a warm but slightly moody darkness, into a shining finale. Approx 70bpmStrings with a terror-inducing, knife-edge feeling for film soundtracks. Or just for special FX in a musical creation.Sunny and slow orchestral strings for scene-setting in soundtracks, or as background to musical works. Includes a slightly less sunny variant, for minor drama or just variation.Medieval folklore soundtrack with a light melody yet slight sense of foreboding. Princesses, elves and forests. Features lute and guitar (courtesy of Javelonus), plus woodwind and string section.Synth and piano samples with an expansive atmosphere.A laid-back, down-tempo remix of Jaspertine's "Changey" with added electric guitar lead.
