Kara's vocal performance was just too inspiring for me to ignore. The lyrics are one of those just-ambiguous-enough treasures that allows the listener to interpret the meaning to their own fancy. I decided to make an edgier mix after hearing a few other versions.

This is so cool. It has such a noir film vibe. The bassline has a great driving effect. And I love the grunge guitar and bass sound. Thank you so much for remixing this! I really dig your edgier approach.
Open to a couple production ideas? (Please feel free to ignore if you're not!) I feel like my vocal is a little thin sounding... I'm wondering if a chorus, vocal double effect or something like that would give it more power. And I really like the pulled back dynamics at certain points, which makes me think that a dramatic pause of instruments at 3:55 with the vocals by themselves (or some cool effect behind them) would be cool... lasting through 4:04 and then "surprise" would be huge with everything coming back in. Good suggestions. I tried a few effects on your vocal and went with some moderate EQing. I think I will tweak it some more per your suggestions, and see if we can't come up with a better vocal track. Stay tuned...
