The actual title to this piece is "Sonnenaufgang" (Sunrise) but most people know it as
"2001: A Space Odyssey". I was familiar with Zarathustra before Stanley Kubrick made it famous: it was frequently used at the local planetarium where I worked giving shows. Working there was the only way to "earn" reservation rights for the observatory which belonged to the local Amature Astronomical Association. But I digress...
It seems to me that a lot of people would use this music in their videos if they could find a performance that isn't burdened with copyright protections. The music is Public Domain, but any modern recording is going to have copyright restrictions--until now. ...More
