I created a variation of the traditional song with the vision of a swinging drum kit, horn section and melodic moving bass line in mind. Local field recording	Easy for you! If you have a portable mic, to record sounds in your local environment that appeal to you. Try to avoid background conversation that identifies people, or any copyrighted music. Heck, how fun would it be to see how many cool sounds you can make in your kitchen? This would all be chopped up and re-sequenced, so there's no need for separating sounds. Only caveat: nothing out of dynamic range (like blaring or distorted) -- I can't fix stuff that's been destroyed by volume. Actual snare drum recording	If you have a snare drum, I'm looking for a field_recording of the drum being hit at descending velocities from hard (crack) to soft (ghost), preferably eight or more with at least a second of silence between each hit.
