Female voice for a holiday reading I'm recording a short story (bet you can guess which story it is) for the Season of Stars event at ccmixter, and need a female voice to do a few of the lines of dialogue. Here they are: “Will you buy my hair?” “Give it to me quick,” “If Jim doesn't kill me before he takes a second look at me, he'll say I look like a Coney Island chorus girl. But what could I do—oh! what could I do with a dollar and eighty-seven cents?” (whisper) : “Please God, make him think I am still pretty.” “Jim, darling, don't look at me that way. I had my hair cut off and sold it because I couldn't have lived through Christmas without giving you a present. It'll grow out again—you won't mind, will you? I just had to do it. My hair grows awfully fast. Say ‘Merry Christmas!’ Jim, and let's be happy. You don't know what a nice—what a beautiful, nice gift I've got for you.” “Cut it off and sold it. Don't you like me just as well, anyhow? I'm me without my hair, ain't I?” “You needn't look for it. It's sold, I tell you—sold and gone, too. It's Christmas Eve, boy. Be good to me, for it went for you. Maybe the hairs of my head were numbered,” she went on with sudden serious sweetness, “but nobody could ever count my love for you. Shall I put the chops on, Jim?” “My hair grows so fast, Jim!” “Isn't it a dandy, Jim? I hunted all over town to find it. You'll have to look at the time a hundred times a day now. Give me your watch. Add vocals to existing track The opening bars of "Tough Guy Shuffle" by Apoxode grabbed my attention. It seemed like the song could work in the direction of a Thomas McElroy/Denzil Foster production. I want to hear this realized through the addition of vocal performance (or set of harmonized performances). If you have ideas for melody/harmony/lyrics and do not identify as a vocal performer that is OK by me; one step at a time. Sep 2, 2024 by

Need a Talking Blues pattern Almost any chord progression* , strummed or picked at a decent bpm (search "talking union" by pete seeger) on acoustic guitar * It is not the 12-bar blues progression you're used to. Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan were big practitioners. I love the form. Aug 12, 2024 by

Clean Audio - Interview w Snowflake and So Sha Sha and I met in person!!! It was magical! We met in the marketplace at Spitalfields where there was a lot of background noise. Would be amazing if this could be cleaned and presented on MixterPlus or ccMixter. Unfortunately I didn't get blank space. Hoping it is still possible to improve the audio quality. Evaluate my latest library logic loop This was fun to make, but apart from the flute licks, I'm probably not going to reuse or "finish" it, ever. I would like someone's honest opinion on the result; to me it has that classic mwic half-baked "sketchy" feel to it.
